world.POSITION:The Supply Chain Manager is a pivotal role
responsible for executing purchasing, planning, inventory control,
and supplier management. This position ensures efficient inventory
management, timely procurement, and effective scheduling. This role
requires collaboration across manufacturing, sales, engineering,
and application development. This role is first of its kind at
Volta Labs and as such will require hands-on engagement as an
individual contributor at first. In time, as the organization
scales, the right individual in this role will be responsible for
scaling their function appropriately to meet the goals of the

team.RESPONSIBILITIES:Purchasing:
- Source and procure materials, components, and services required
for production, engineering, and R&D.
- Collaborate with vendors to negotiate pricing, terms, and
delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases and monitor supplier
performance.Scheduling:
- Ensure timely delivery of materials, components, and
sub-assemblies to meet production schedule.
- Optimize production flow by coordinating material availability
and enabling frictionless flow of material in support of
manufacturing.
- Develop production schedules based on demand forecasts and
capacity constraints.Strategic Sourcing:
- Engage, onboard, and develop contract manufacturing
capabilities to help scale production.
- Develop alternate sources to improve cost, quality, and
delivery of critical materials, components, and products.Material
Planning Optimization:
- Utilize ERP systems to plan and procure material needs, track
inventory levels, and prevent shortages.
- Analyze demand patterns and adjust procurement plans
accordingly.Inventory Management and Logistics:
- Develop and own shipping/receiving functions in support of
scaling operations. Monitor inventory levels, minimize excess
stock, and prevent stockouts.
- Implement inventory control strategies to optimize working
capital.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Develop logistics partnerships, negotiating freight and 3PL
opportunities, and shipping activities in support of
customers.Supplier Relationship Management:
- Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring
reliable and consistent deliveries.
- Evaluate supplier performance, address issues, and drive
continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with suppliers on cost reduction
initiatives.QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4 year BS/BA degree with 7+ years of relevant supply chain
experience.
- 3+ years of relevant supply chain experience with supporting
manufacturing operations of complex engineered capital equipment
(e.g. medical, robotics, semiconductor, high tech
industrials).
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced planning tools.
- Prior experience with ERP implementations and/or NetSuite
experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Experience in discrete manufacturing of electromechanical
systems is a plus.This is a full-time position that requires a
significant amount of in-person work and collaboration onsite at
our Seaport Office in Boston, MA. If you are unable to relocate or
commute to the Boston MA area, this role won't be a match.Our
