Retail Associate
Location: Boston - Part-Time
Are you ready to join the world's most fun learning company? Mrs Wordsmith is seeking a Retail Associate to join our team at our pop-up shop in the Boston Seaport.
At Mrs Wordsmith, we combine proven learning science with Hollywood-quality animation to create outrageously fun educational games, books, and apps. We're on a mission to empower kids aged 4-13 to express themselves, ace exams, write confidently, and develop a lifelong love for reading - all through the power of play.
As a Retail Associate, you'll be a vital part of our mission to become every child's most loved English teacher. In this role, you'll work with a dynamic retail team, champion our brand, and introduce customers to Mrs Wordsmith's literacy revolution. You'll be instrumental in spreading the joy of words and igniting a passion for reading and writing among children aged 4-13.

The Role
As a Retail Associate you will assist customers by offering tailored recommendations, answering questions, and sharing our science-backed approach to learning. The ideal candidate for this position has experience working in retail and knowledge of the education space.
What You'll Do:

• Greet and engage customers as they explore our store.
  
• Answer questions related to the merchandise and provide recommendations based on age, grade level, and learning goals.
  
• Guide customers to various products and oversee the Gaming Studio area within the store, encouraging children and adults to explore our games.
  
• Process payments and use the company's POS system to handle customer purchases.
  
• Capture photo and video within the store to share on companies' social channels.
  
• Represent Mrs Wordsmith's values and communicate our approach to supporting learning through the Science of Reading and game-based learning.
  
  About You:
  
  
• 2+ years of experience in customer service. Experience in education is preferred.
  
• Ability to work well on a team.
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  
• Basic tech literacy; can operate and troubleshoot basic app usage on iPads.
  
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
  
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  
  Hours:
  We are seeking Retail Associates for two shift schedules:
  
  
• Part-time, 20-24 hours per week. Afternoon, evening, and weekend hours.
  
• Per diem. Evening and weekend hours.
