About the JobThis is an exciting opportunity to work as a Clinical Laboratory Technician at Labcorp in Melrose, MA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing routine and complex technical procedures, monitoring and operating instrumentation, and ensuring the quality of patient care.Responsibilities:

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform testing procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies.
• Assist with processing of specimens.
• Maintain a safe work environment.Requirements:
  • Associate degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory requirements.
  • Previous clinical laboratory testing experience is highly preferred.
  • ASCP or AMT certification is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Proficient with computers and familiar with laboratory information systems.
  • High level of attention detail and strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen.
