Job Description:
Job DescriptionThe Assistant Director of Talent & Culture is
responsible for maintaining a warm and welcoming environment for
colleagues who require assistance, where colleagues obtain benefits
and accurate information about the hotel and its services, and
where they can voice any concerns they have about their work
environment.
- Act as a resource for management and colleagues to resolve
concerns, issues or disputes arising out of employment with the
hotel.
- Act as a resource to leadership team members regarding the
current labor contract, past practices, progressive discipline and
other hotel policies.
- Ensures two way communication exists between management,
executives and colleagues. Maintains open door policy to surface
items of concern to colleagues.
- Assists with and/or conducts investigations related to
Grievances, MCAD/EEOC charges and other forms of employee related
litigation.
- Must be effective at handling problems in the workplace,
including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving
problems as necessary.
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and
clarifying the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and
guests.
- Conduct and/or coordinate corporate developed training programs
on an ongoing basis for both managers and hourly colleagues.
- Design, develop, and implement additional training programs as
needed in areas such as guest service, product knowledge, sales
skills, team building, telephone etiquette, etc.
- Incorporate varied methods and media for effective presentation
of training concepts.
- Emphasize and reinforce Fairmont training concepts through
follow up training, knowledge checks and general skills
audits.
- Monitor impact of training efforts utilizing both qualitative
and quantitative measures.
- Ensure that other Fairmont standards and core values are
met.
- Maintain a consistent and effective flow of communication
between executive committee, fellow managers and colleagues, and
corporate office.
- Create incentive programs, activities, contests, and
recognition and reward systems to motivate colleagues to achieve
training goals and objectives.
- Must write effective business communications. Must analyze,
discern, interpret and understand business records and statistical
reports.Qualifications
- Previous leadership experience required, 5 years minimum.
- Labor relations experience is required.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications
required.
- University/College degree in a related discipline
preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational
skills.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Highly responsible & reliable.
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses
of action quickly and accurately.
- Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
- Must maintain composure and objectivity under
