Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Meat
Team Leader to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a Meat Team
Leader, you will be responsible for providing overall leadership to
the Meat team, ensuring the highest standards of retail execution,
and fostering a positive environment of outstanding teamwork and
mutual respect.Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Management: Holds ATLs, supervisors, and
team members accountable for delivering outstanding customer
service, makes hiring and separation decisions in partnership with
store leadership, and monitors and achieves sales, purchasing, and
labor targets.
- Operations and Logistics: Projects annual sales and expenses,
prepares operating budgets, manages ordering and inventory to
achieve targeted contribution to profit margin, and establishes and
maintains collaborative and productive working relationships with
departmental and store leadership.
- Customer Service and Experience: Maintains awareness of
customer flows and needs, directs team members as necessary to
satisfy and delight customers, responds promptly to customer needs
and questions, and communicates and models WFM vision and
goals.
- Team Development and Safety: Selects, trains, develops,
mentors, motivates, and counsels team members in a manner that
sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover,
communicates and maintains team member safety and security
standards, and provides timely, thorough, and thoughtful
performance evaluations.Requirements
- Education and Experience: 24+ months retail experience,
including 12+ months of team leadership experience.
- Skills and Certifications: Advanced knowledge of products,
buying, pricing, merchandising, and inventory management, food
safety certification, certified meat journeyman or equivalent
training, excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and
customer relationship skills, and proficiency with email, Microsoft
Office, and operations-related applications.Working ConditionsThe
Meat Team Leader will work in a fast-paced retail environment,
lifting up to 50 pounds, standing/walking for 6-8 hours in an
8-hour workday, and working a flexible schedule including nights,
weekends, and holidays as needed.
