Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Program DirectorCorporate Office - Boston, 2 Center Plaza, Boston, Massachusetts, United States of America Req #1666Wednesday, July 24, 2024Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Program Director - Boston, MAThe Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Program Director will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing Beacon Communities' comprehensive approach to DEIB programs, policies and initiatives. In this individual contributor position, the incumbent will work closely with all levels of leadership, human resources, and all other employees to promote a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace. Collaboration and resourcefulness will be key, as will the willingness and ability to undertake both strategic and tactical work, with a problem-solving attitude in complex and fast-paced situations with a wide variety of internal and external constituents.Reports to: Chief Executive OfficerDirect Reports: NoneFLSA Status: ExemptLocation: Corporate Office - BostonEssential Functions of the Position

  • Stay informed of new DEIB related trends, conduct research and review benchmarking to identify best practices and trends in DEIB and incorporate them into the organization's DEIB strategy.
  • Design and integrate successful inclusion and diversity programs by contributing DEIB perspective, insight and knowledge to the Beacon leadership team.
  • Track and support the implementation of Beacon's DEIB work plan.
  • Support DEIB Steering Committee, Ambassadors and Employee Resource Groups.
  • Work with the Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers to assist in the development and implementation of strategies to attract, retain, and advance a diverse and inclusive workforce.
  • In collaboration with Talent Acquisition, assist in establishing an external recruitment framework in identifying, sourcing, and building diverse talent pipelines consistently implement diversity hiring practices across all sites and corporate offices.
  • Partner with HR team and leadership to embed DEIB principles into relevant Company Operations and HR practices, including onboarding, performance management, and employee development.
  • Collaborate with Learning & Development to design and facilitate diversity training and workshops for employees at all levels to build and maintain awareness and understanding of DEIB principles and practices.
  • Prepare DEIB communications materials for internal and external parties.
  • Partner with external organizations and community groups to build partnerships and programs that support the organization's DEIB goals, increase opportunities and enhance community impact.
  • Establish, analyze and report on the organization's internal diversity metrics in collaboration with the HR team.
  • Work with Operations team to develop procurement strategies and goals to support DEIB external business outcomes.Minimum QualificationsEducation: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.Experience: Progressive experience in DEIB-related roles, including program development and management.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong knowledge of current DEIB trends, issues, and best practices.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills with the ability to work across different levels of the organization.
    • Ability to identify biased thinking and behavior.
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
    • Experience in training, facilitation, and public speaking.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
    • A track record of preparing and delivering effective DEIB communication materials across a variety of platforms.
    • Flexibility, ability and willingness to carry out both strategic and tactical work needed given individual contributor.
    • Experience with State or local supplier diversity programs.Travel Requirements: Work from Boston corporate office or a Beacon site 3 days/week minimum.
